Hr.Ms. Johan de Witt

The amphibious transport ship Hr.Ms. Johan de Witt (L 801) is the second Landing Platform Dock (LPD) of the Royal Dutch Navy. With a total length of 177 meters, it is the largest Dutch Navy ship. It was designed just as the MARDET Rotterdam to transport a fully equipped marines battalion with materials. Besides, it has extended command facilities. Hr. Ms. Johan de Witt is one stage higher than the Hr. Ms. Rotterdam and newer technology has been used.
The ship was delivered to the Dutch Navy around 2006/2007.
