Zr. Ms. De Ruyter

Zr. Ms. De Ruyter is the third of the 4 new Air defence and Command frigates in service with the Royal Netherlands navy. The ships are equipped with facilities to provide command facilities for the staff of a navy escadre. Besides they are equipped with weapon systems for the air-defence of an entire naval squadron. Characteristics are the stealth capabilities of the ships.
 

They have all new weapon technologies like: Standard missiles against air targets, Evolved Sea Sparrow against air targets at short distance, Goalkeeper 30 mm canon against targets at very short distance, 127 mm canon against surface- and airtargets, harpoon weapon system against surface targets, torpedo weapon system against submarines, systems for jamming and radarjamming,
Mos systems are developed by the Thales company. The ship is the same like Zr. Ms. Zeven Provinciën which came already before operational.
